How To Get Glassy Skin in 2022

Posted by Itati Acosta on

Glass and dewy skin has been the go-to look in 2021, but do we see that continuing in 2022? Absolutely! Dr. Shirazi has perfected the essentials for achieving this natural look with her skincare favorites.

Hydration is key

We’re always aiming for that healthy glow and balance when it comes to our skin. Skin hydration is always a focus. Dr. Azi swears by hyaluronic acid, Not only does hyaluronic acid do a killer job when it comes to moisturizing the skin, but it minimizes signs of aging, since plump, hydrated skin makes fine lines and wrinkles less visible. She applies it after misting her skin with thermal spring water, either Avene or La Roche Posay.  Lastly, she always seals it in with a heavy cream like Biossance Squalane + Omega repair Cream or Skinceuticals Triple Lipid restore.

Glowing face masks to try

Dr. Azi loves the Wonder Beauty eye masks. She recommends applying them cold in the mornings after a long flight or a sleepless night. For just a deep cleanse at home or maskne, she uses Detox. For hydration, she chooses Avene Soothing Sheet mask, again applied cold to help with deputing and for anti-aging. Lancome’s light pearl sheet mask is another face mask favorite of her’s.

Skin-cooling tips

Cold therapy can help reduce swelling, pain, and inflammation. It’s certainly not a treatment or a cure for these conditions however. Dr. Azi recommends applying certain skincare products cold as it soothes and calms the skin. There's been more evidence as of recently to suggest that cold skin care causes some degree of vasoconstriction, thereby helping with puffiness.  more quickly than that of the room temp variety.

The plumper your lips, the better

Using just a drop of peppermint oil with a carrier oil is a little secret of Dr. Azi that helps plump up the lips temporarily. However, it’s best to try a test spot to be sure you’re not sensitive to it.  Lip products such as the Platinum Lip Plump can make your lips look like you just had 1 syringe of filler without using a needle.  It lasts 2-3 hours but it can be reapplied. Using an ointment overnight such as Vaseline Lip Therapy can prevent trans-epidermal water loss therefore plumping the lips with moisture overnight. It sounds basic, but totally works!
